The RAMPS 1.6 is a 3D printer control board based on the Arduino platform. It's an upgraded version of the previous RAMPS boards and is designed to control the most common functions of a 3D printer such as managing the heating system, controlling the movement of the axes, and managing the flow of the extruder's filament.

RAMPS 1.6 is optimized and launched based on RAMPS1.4 by BigTreeTech R&D team. They have changed the original plug-in MOS tube to patch-type MOS tube in order to solve the heating and melting problem of plug-in MOS tube, taking up a large area, poor heat dissipation, etc. This can improve the stability and aesthetics of the board. The multiple extended interface and replaceable parts make RAMPS 1.6 become a control board with powerful upgrade capability and scalable modularity. The controller board can be used as a HAT(Hardware Attachment on Top) for Aurdino Mega and on top connected to stepper motor drives.
